Talk to a human
GymBunny is made by a small team, and support email is read by the people who build the app — not a ticket queue. We reply within 2 business days.
It helps if you mention your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you tapped right before things went sideways.
[email protected]Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start your first set — GymBunny works fully as a guest, and your workouts live on your device. An account only exists if you want cloud sync, backup and the web dashboard — all free. You can sign up at any point without losing what you've already logged.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. GymBunny is local-first: logging, programs, timers, streaks and charts all run on your device. A basement gym with no bars changes nothing. If you're signed in, cloud sync catches up on its own once you're back online.
I don't know what to train. Where do I start?
Expert-built programs are in the app from day one — pick one that matches your goal and edit it however you like. You can also build your own, start from a day template, or paste a program you already have (from a coach, a PDF, a forum post) and let your phone turn it into real sets and reps. That last one happens entirely on device.
Your plan & what's free
What exactly is free?
Unlimited workouts and unlimited sets, all three tracking modes (Coach, Checklist, Quick), the whole exercise library with how-to steps, the rest timer, the Apple Watch app, Apple Health sync, body tracking, automatically detected personal records, charts across your last 10 workouts, and the whole motivation layer — carrots, streaks, quests, achievements and all ten ranks. No ads, no expiring trial.
Where are the limits, then?
The free plan holds 5 training days in total, across as many programs of your own as you like. The programs we hand you on day one don't count against that number. Pro lifts the cap — it doesn't unlock the basics.
What does Pro add?
Unlimited training days, your complete history forever, longer chart ranges (8W and 12W volume, 3M/6M/1Y estimated 1RM), muscle balance analytics, progress photos (kept on your device), custom program covers, and the coach report — with every cap lifted on the web dashboard too. Full breakdown is on the pricing page.
I hit a limit but I don't want to pay. What happens to my data?
Nothing is taken away. Everything you have already logged stays exactly where it is and keeps working — a cap only stops you adding a new program or training day beyond it.
Billing, cancelling & refunds
How do I see or cancel my subscription?
GymBunny Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed by Apple, so it's managed in your Apple Account rather than inside GymBunny:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
- Pick GymBunny — from there you can change or cancel the plan
Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro keeps working until the end of the period you've already paid for. To avoid being charged again, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date shown on that screen.
Can you refund me?
We'd like to, but we can't — Apple processes every App Store payment, so refunds go through them. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you bought with. Write to us anyway if something about Pro didn't work as described: we can't move the money, but we can fix the reason.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Nothing is deleted. You drop back to the free plan, your history stays, and you can still export everything. If you're over the free caps, your existing programs and days remain usable — you just can't add new ones until you're back under the limit or on Pro. We never delete your data because you stopped paying.
New phone or reinstall
I reinstalled the app and Pro is gone
Open Settings › GymBunny Pro in the app and tap Restore purchases. Make sure the iPhone is signed into the same Apple Account that bought the subscription — restores are tied to that account, not to your GymBunny sign-in.
I got a new iPhone. How do I bring my workouts across?
If you were signed in, sign in with the same Apple or Google account on the new phone and your data syncs down. If you used GymBunny as a guest, your workouts only ever lived on the old device — restore it from an iPhone or iCloud backup, or export your data on the old phone before you wipe it (see Export your data).
Delete your account
You can delete your account and all of its data yourself, from inside the app — you don't need to ask us:
- Open Settings › Privacy & security
- Tap Delete account & data
- Confirm — the app asks twice, on purpose
This immediately deletes your cloud data (workouts, programs, body entries, custom exercises, achievements, your profile, and any share links you published), then deletes your sign-in account and wipes the app's local data on the device. There is no soft delete and no waiting period. If it's been a while since you last signed in, the app may ask you to sign in again first — that's a security check, not a step we can skip.
Two things worth knowing. Deleting your GymBunny account does not cancel an active subscription — do that separately in your Apple Account subscriptions. And if someone already added a program from a link you published, their copy lives in their own library and stays there; deletion takes down the link, not copies other people made. The full picture is in the Privacy Policy.
Export your data
Open Settings › Privacy & security and tap Export my data. The app builds a complete JSON file on your device — profile, goals, programs, workout history, body entries and custom exercises — and hands it to the normal iOS share sheet, so you can save it to Files, email it to yourself, or drop it anywhere you like. No account needed, no server involved, no limit on how often you do it.
Prefer a browser? The GymBunny web dashboard's Export all data button (Dashboard → Settings, once you're signed in) produces the same JSON file.
Apple Watch
The GymBunny watch app isn't on my Watch
Open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll to Available Apps, and install GymBunny. If it isn't listed, make sure the iPhone app is up to date and both devices are signed into the same Apple Account, then restart both.
Sets I log on the Watch aren't showing on my iPhone
Phone and Watch talk directly to each other, so keep the iPhone nearby (or on the same Wi-Fi) and open GymBunny on the phone once — that's usually all it takes for the session to land. If a workout still doesn't appear, don't start a fresh one on the phone: write to us first, with the date and roughly what time you trained.
Why do I see heart rate on the Watch but not on my iPhone?
Because the Watch is the thing with the sensor. Live heart rate and active calories are read during a watch workout; the iPhone screen shows your sets, targets and rest timer instead.
Apple Health
How do I turn Health sync on or off?
GymBunny asks for Health permission the first time it needs it. To change your mind later, open Apple's own Health app, then Sharing › Apps › GymBunny, and switch individual categories on or off. iOS owns those switches — GymBunny can't grant itself access, and turning something off never affects the workouts already logged in GymBunny.
What does GymBunny read and write?
It reads your steps, resting heart rate, active calories and recent workout count to show them on your Home screen — those readings stay on your device. When you finish a workout, it writes that workout (and its active-calorie total, if available) into Health. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Share links
How do I switch a shared program off?
Open Settings › Shared programs — every link you've published is listed there, and switching one off stops it opening for anyone else. Remember that a link has no password: while it's on, anyone holding the six-character code can read that program. What a link does and doesn't carry is spelled out in the Privacy Policy.
Someone sent me a link — do I need the app?
No. Shared programs and shared workouts open in any browser. The app is only needed if you want to add the program to your own library and train it.
Bugs & feature requests
Both go to the same place: [email protected]. For a bug, the fastest fix comes from a message that says what you expected, what happened instead, and the steps in between — a screenshot or screen recording is worth a paragraph. For a feature, tell us the problem you're trying to solve rather than the solution you have in mind; it's usually the more useful half.
Accessibility trouble — text size, contrast, VoiceOver, motion — counts as a bug here, not a request. Tell us and we'll treat it that way.
